her company, Import Consulting Services, to provide advice and training to importers, brokers and international trade associations. She taught classes in the international trade programs in community colleges in both Dallas and Fort Worth. Her Broker Exam Preparation class enabled many students to pass the Customs Broker Examination and obtain their licenses.
Sandy has written numerous articles for international trade organization newsletters, and two books which may be purchased through Boskage Commerce Publications at www.boskage.com. Her first book, Howdy, Duty! An Insider’s Guide to Navigating U.S. Customs is a comprehensive how-to manual covering the most common Customs requirements as to marking, classification, value and entry requirements. The latest book is When You HAFTA Do NAFTA, Practical Solutions to the North American Free Trade Agreement. This manual takes the importer, exporter and producer through the eligibility process of qualifying a product under the Rules of Origin, and discusses record keeping and audits.
