Liz Martindale is a licensed Customs Broker with extensive experience in petroleum foreign-trade zones. She retired from a Fortune 500 petroleum company at the end of 2005 after 20 years, nine of which were spent managing three large refinery subzones.
Liz is a very capable speaker and presenter - she was one of just a few civilians to be invited to speak at the FLETC (Federal Law Enforcement Center) in Brunswick, Georgia where she presented FTZ 101 to Customs agents seeking training on petroleum foreign-trade zones. She has also spoken on numerous occasions at various seminars held by the National Association of Foreign-Trade Zones (NAFTZ) and the American Petroleum Institute (API).
She is knowledgeable in all aspects of petroleum foreign-trade zones including activating and deactivating as well as the day to day management. She participated in the Customs ISA (Importer Self Assessment) application and her expert presentations to Customs helped her company's subsequent approval in the ISA program. She has been very involved in custody transfer meter compliance programs and in-house audits of subzones. Her FTZ experience includes feasibility studies and application packages for zone approval. Her broad Customs knowledge and experience is especially helpful to clients undergoing audits and reviews.
Liz currently teaches Customs Broker Test Prep Classes nationwide and her students have experienced an outstanding 80% pass rate.
Liz attended McNeese State University in Lake Charles, Louisiana. She is a Licensed Customs Broker and a Louisiana Notary Public.
