With well over 18 years of experience, Adrienne Braumiller is widely recognized as a leading authority in Customs, import, export, and ITAR compliance. She has presented as a distinguished lecturer for such groups as the American Association of Exporters and Importers, the Import Compliance Professional's Association, the American Petroleum Institute, and the National Association of Foreign Trade Zones.
In January of 2007, Ms. Braumiller was appointed by Secretary of the Treasury, Henry Paulson,Jr., and Secretary of Homeland Security, Michael Chertoff to serve a two year term on the Departmental Advisory Committee on Commercial Operations of Customs and Border Protection (COAC). In this role, Ms. Braumiller will serve as one of several members representing the interests of importers and their agents. During her term, Ms. Braumiller is expected to assist with many critical topics related to trade facilitation and security, including program initiatives as well as legislative mandates.
Ms. Braumiller founded the international law firm of Braumiller Schulz, LLP. Over the years, Ms. Braumiller has assisted several companies to devise and implement Customs, NAFTA, import and export compliance programs and related training. Actively involved in the trade community, Ms. Braumiller has held numerous leadership roles including serving as the President of the Organization of Women in International Trade at both the local and national levels. She has also held numerous leadership positions in various international and Customs law committees within local, state, and national bar associations. Adrienne received her LLM in International Business Transactions from McGeorge School of Law, Sacramento, California and earned her JD at St. Mary's University, San Antonio, Texas. Adrienne studied international law at the University of Salzburg, Salzburg, Austria and at the University of Oxford, Queen's College, Oxford, England. She is licensed to practice before the Supreme Court of Texas; the United States District Court of Texas for the Northern District; and the United States Court of International Trade.
With regards to her export practice, Ms. Braumiller has been involved in every aspect of export compliance, from developing export compliance programs to conducting export audits and assessments, representing clients who are under investigation, preparing and submitting voluntary disclosures, preparing and filing classification requests and licenses, analyzing whether specific transactions should be pursued, providing tailored training on specific export topics, and serving as an expert witness in a number of export cases.
